Meetings today!

Props & Slops

Props:

Lauren Davidson's stories on plagiarism and same-sex marriage were fantastic. There were both well researched and written.

Aubrie Sofala for her story Revolution from afar. It was great and moving.

Zach Keeper's illustration about the new library software was funny and a great way to break up the gray jump page.

Vanessa Whited's the truth about hell week is hilarious and will help relieve the stress you are going though right now.

The photo for the wakeboarding team was fantastic!

Slops:

The news section on the jump pages are really text heavy.

Nov. 11 Props & Slops

Props:

The graphic main package on the front page is great at breaking down the difficult concepts in the story. Kudos to Vanessa Whited who designed the elements.

The teaser button leading viewers to the second S
GA article in this issue on the front page story was a good idea for those who are interested in reading the SGA stories.

This issue had many graphical elements compared to past issues from this semester. The crosswalk graphic on the fourth page was a nice way to get additional information about pedestrian safety and consequences of not exercising caution.

The spread for 'Hamlet' was nice. A great dominant image choice.

On page 17 in sports the use of a box to give readers the chance to see scores for women's basketball at a glance is fantastic and so useful.

Slops:

Two stories on page 2 have the same jump headline 'Grants.' Sorry about that. It is correct online.

The photo of the bench on page 3 is too large for that kind of photo. It should have been run smaller.

We hope you enjoy the paper this week. Feel free to send us your opinions, vents or a letter to the editor to:
colonnadeletters@gcsu.edu

We want to hear from you!

Impeachment motion carries

The Student Government Association met Monday, Nov. 7, for the second time this year to discuss articles of impeachment. In this instance they were filed against freshman Senator Matthew Wirth.

Unlike the outcome of the previous impeachment hearing of Vice President Ross Sheppard, with a 16-5 vote, the motion to impeach Senator Wirth carried. His case will now be forwarded to the Student Judicial Board, where it will be determined by a majority vote whether he should be removed or allowed to stay in his position on SGA.

Read why impeachment articles were filed here.

Look for The Colonnade on Nov. 11 for a complete story about the special session.
